German procurement universally requires EN 10204 3.1 as the minimum for industrial forgings — this is standard practice for any part in German machinery, automotive, or chemical plant construction. EN 10204 3.2 (with TÜV Rheinland witness) is required for all pressure vessel forgings under PED 2014/68/EU Category III–IV, for Siemens Energy gas turbine disk forgings, for Deutsche Bahn railway axle forgings (EN 13261), and for offshore structural steel forgings (DNV GL GL Noble Denton survey).
