But 'similar' is not the same as 'identical,' and the specific tolerance bands on manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, along with the standard's designated heat treatment conditions and mechanical property test requirements, differ enough between GB/T 699, JIS, DIN, and AISI equivalents that a customer's incoming inspection or downstream quality system referencing GB/T 699 specifically needs a supplier who can certify to that actual standard, not an approximated cross-reference.
