Precision Forged Pipe Fittings for Critical Piping Systems

Forged fittings outperform cast and fabricated alternatives in high-pressure, high-temperature service. The forging process closes internal porosity, refines the grain flow along the fitting contour and delivers wall thicknesses 20–30 % heavier than schedule pipe — exactly what oil & gas, refinery and power plant piping demands. Shivam Forge produces the complete range of socket-weld and threaded fittings from its integrated Shapar, Rajkot facility.

Forged Pipeline Fitting Types We Manufacture

Forged Elbows — 90° & 45°

Socket-weld and threaded elbows in 90° and 45° configurations for directional changes in high-pressure piping systems. Produced in Class 3000 and Class 6000 to ASME B16.11, with wall thickness designed to exceed schedule 160 pipe requirements.

Forged Tees — Equal & Reducing

Equal and reducing tees for branch connections in process and utility piping. Our forged tees maintain consistent wall thickness through the branch junction, eliminating the stress concentration points common in fabricated weld-in tees.

Forged Couplings & Half Couplings

Full and half couplings for pipe-to-pipe and pipe-to-vessel connections. Half couplings are supplied to MSS SP-97 for branch outlet connections on carbon, alloy and stainless steel pipelines.

Forged Reducers & Swaged Nipples

Concentric and eccentric reducer configurations for connecting different pipe bores. Swaged nipples in Class 3000 and 6000 for compact line reductions in instrumentation and sampling systems.

Forged Unions

Three-piece forged unions with ground seats for leak-free disconnectable joints in maintenance-accessible lines. Available in ground joint (GJ) and flared seat configurations in carbon and stainless steel.

Caps, Plugs & Olets

End caps and hex plugs for line termination and testing. Weldolets, sockolets and threadolets to MSS SP-97 for reinforced branch connections on main run pipe — eliminating the need for pad reinforcement.

Materials for Forged Pipe Fittings

ASTM A105 — Carbon Steel

The workhorse material for general-service fittings in oil & gas, water treatment and industrial piping. A105 offers good weldability, yield strength ≥250 MPa and impact toughness down to −29°C. Used across the full Class 3000–6000 range.

ASTM A182 F316 / F316L — Stainless Steel

316 and 316L stainless fittings for corrosive media — seawater, chlorides, acids and chemical service. F316L's low carbon content prevents sensitisation during welding, making it the standard choice in chemical and pharmaceutical piping.

ASTM A182 F11 / F22 — Chrome-Moly Alloy Steel

1¼Cr–½Mo (F11) and 2¼Cr–1Mo (F22) alloy fittings for high-temperature service in power plant steam lines and refinery process piping operating above 400°C. Heat-treated to meet creep and oxidation resistance requirements.

ASTM A182 F304 / F304L — Stainless Steel

304 and 304L fittings for food processing, cryogenic and general stainless steel piping. F304L is used where post-weld heat treatment is not practical and corrosion resistance at the weld heat-affected zone must be maintained.

EN8 / SAE 1040 — Mild Carbon Steel

Cost-effective carbon steel fittings for water, steam and utility service piping where budget is a priority. Tensile strength 540–700 N/mm² with good machinability for threaded fittings requiring precise thread form.

Duplex & Super Duplex (on request)

Duplex (UNS S31803) and super duplex (UNS S32750) fittings for offshore, seawater injection and highly corrosive chemical service. Superior pitting resistance index (PRE ≥40 for super duplex) at competitive cost vs pure nickel alloys.

Why Shivam Forge for Pipeline Fittings

ASME B16.11 & BS 3799 Compliance

Every fitting batch is dimensionally verified to ASME B16.11 wall thickness, end-to-end and centre-to-face tolerances. BS 3799 metric socket-weld and screwed fittings are produced for UK and European project specifications.

In-House Thread Cutting & Socket Boring

NPT, BSPT and metric threads cut on dedicated CNC threading centres. Socket bores are precision-machined to ASME B16.11 depth and diameter tolerances — critical for correct gap in socket-weld connections.

Hydrostatic & PMI Testing

Hydrostatic shell testing at 1.5× rated pressure available on request. Positive material identification (PMI) using XRF analyser confirms alloy chemistry on each heat of stainless and chrome-moly fittings before dispatch.

Hardness & Mechanical Testing

Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing on each production lot. Tensile, yield and Charpy impact tests performed on heat-treated fittings with test reports traceable to material heat numbers.

Full MTC & Traceability

EN 10204 3.1 material test certificates issued with each order. Heat number stamping on fittings ≥½″ NPS; colour coding by material grade for field identification. Documentation package includes MTC, dimensional report and hydro test certificate.

Competitive Pricing vs European Alternatives

Our Rajkot manufacturing base and integrated in-house process — forging, heat treatment, machining, inspection — translate to 30–45% cost advantage over equivalent European-manufactured fittings without compromising quality or certification.

Shivam Forge has been supplying forged pipeline fittings to oil & gas, petrochemical and power generation projects from its Shapar, Rajkot manufacturing facility for over two decades. The complete range — elbows, tees, couplings, reducers, unions, caps and olets — is produced under one roof, from billet heating through closed-die forging, heat treatment, CNC machining of sockets and threads, pressure testing and final inspection. This integration keeps lead times predictable and quality consistent, batch after batch.

The case for forged fittings over cast or fabricated alternatives is straightforward: the forging process eliminates porosity, aligns grain flow with the fitting geometry and produces wall sections typically 25% heavier than the pipe they connect to. In Class 6000 service — common in wellhead and HP manifold piping — that structural integrity is non-negotiable. Our closed-die process ensures each 90° elbow, reducing tee or weldolet meets ASME B16.11 wall thickness tolerances without machining away metal to compensate for casting variation.

Material selection drives a significant portion of fitting cost and service life. For most onshore process piping, ASTM A105 carbon steel delivers excellent value — it welds easily, meets ASME VIII requirements and handles temperatures from −29°C to 425°C. When the pipeline carries corrosive media or operates above 450°C, we move to A182 F316L stainless or F11/F22 chrome-moly alloys. Our team can assist with material selection if you share the operating medium, pressure class and temperature profile.

Quality documentation is treated as part of the product, not an afterthought. Each order ships with an EN 10204 3.1 material test certificate traceable to the originating heat, a dimensional inspection report checked against ASME B16.11 or BS 3799 as applicable, hardness test records, and — for alloy and stainless fittings — a PMI certificate confirming element composition by XRF. Hydrostatic test certificates are issued when shell testing is specified. This documentation package satisfies the requirements of most EPC contractor QC plans without additional supplier qualification steps.

Shivam Forge serves customers across India and in 12+ export countries including UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, Germany, USA and Southeast Asia. Our pricing on forged fittings is consistently 30–40% below European-sourced equivalents at comparable or better quality levels, with short lead times enabled by our Rajkot location near Mundra and JNPT ports. Frequently Asked Questions

What standards do Shivam Forge's forged pipe fittings meet?

Our forged fittings are manufactured to ASME B16.11 (socket-weld and threaded), BS 3799 and MSS SP-97 (olets). Material standards include ASTM A105, A182 F11, F22, F304, F316 and equivalents. Dimensional inspection is carried out against the applicable standard for every production batch.

What pressure classes are available for forged fittings?

We supply forged fittings in Class 3000 and Class 6000 per ASME B16.11, and 2000# to 9000# for BS 3799 equivalents. Class selection depends on pipe schedule, material and operating pressure. Our team can recommend the correct class based on your design pressure and temperature.

What size range do you cover for forged pipe fittings?

Standard production range is ½″ to 4″ NPS (DN 15 to DN 100). Sizes outside this range — including ¼″ and 6″ NPS fittings — can be produced as custom orders. Please share your complete size schedule for confirmation.

Can you supply ASTM A182 F316L stainless steel fittings?

Yes. F316L is one of our standard stainless steel fitting materials. We also supply F304L, F304, F316 and duplex grades. All stainless steel fittings are solution annealed and supplied with EN 10204 3.1 MTC. PMI testing is available on request.

What is the difference between socket-weld and threaded fittings?

Socket-weld fittings (SW) are welded to the pipe — the pipe slides into a machined socket and a fillet weld is applied around the outside. They are used for permanent connections in higher-pressure or vibrating service. Threaded (screwed) fittings use NPT or BSPT threads for removable connections, typically in lower-pressure utility or instrument service. Both types are produced to ASME B16.11.

Do you manufacture weldolets and sockolets?

Yes. We produce weldolets, sockolets and threadolets to MSS SP-97. These branch connection fittings eliminate the need for reinforcement pads on the main run pipe and are designed to match the branch-to-run pipe diameter ratio specified in your piping stress analysis.

Can Shivam Forge supply NACE MR0175 compliant fittings for sour service?

Yes. For sour service applications (H₂S-containing environments) we can supply A105 fittings with controlled hardness ≤22 HRC and impact tested material as required by NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156. Heat treatment and hardness documentation are included in the certification package.

What is the lead time for forged pipeline fittings?

Standard carbon steel fittings in A105 are typically available in 2–3 weeks for regular sizes. Stainless and alloy steel fittings take 3–5 weeks depending on material procurement. Rush orders and project schedules are accommodated — contact us with your delivery requirement and we will confirm feasibility.
