Safety-Critical Forged Wheel Hubs

Wheel hubs carry the entire dynamic load of a vehicle — radial, axial and bending — through every corner, braking event and pothole. The forging process is the only manufacturing route that delivers the microstructure, fatigue strength and consistency this safety-critical component demands. Shivam Forge produces forged wheel hubs with tight bore and OD tolerances for direct CNC finish-machining, minimising your per-part cost.

Wheel Hub Types We Forge

Passenger Car Wheel Hubs

Forged wheel hub blanks for front and rear passenger car axles in SAE 1040 and SAE 4140. Near-net geometry with pre-formed flange, hub bore and stud hole pattern to minimise machining.

Commercial Vehicle (Truck & Bus) Hubs

Heavy-duty forged wheel hubs for trucks, buses and HCVs in SAE 4140 and EN19. Forged to carry rated axle loads of 6–20 tonnes. Stud hole bolt circles and pilot bore configured per customer drawing.

Tractor Front & Rear Wheel Hubs

Forged tractor wheel hubs in SAE 1040 for front steer axles and SAE 4140 for rear drive axles. Configured for cast iron or steel wheel mounting on standard IS 5600 or customer-specified bolt patterns.

Trailer & Semi-Trailer Hubs

Forged trailer wheel hubs for single-axle and tandem-axle trailers. Manufactured in SAE 4140 with hub cap face, bearing seat bore and stud pattern per customer or IS 3731 specification.

Two-Wheeler & Three-Wheeler Hubs

Lightweight forged wheel hubs for motorcycles, scooters and three-wheeled vehicles. SAE 1040 forged hubs with spoke flange or disc brake mount features, 0.5–3 kg weight range.

Off-Highway & Construction Equipment Hubs

Heavy forged wheel hubs for earthmoving, mining and construction machinery. SAE 4140 and EN24 grades for extreme duty cycles. Hub bore, pilot diameter and stud pattern to OEM drawing.

Wheel Hub Forging Capabilities

Closed-Die Hot Forging

All wheel hubs are produced by closed-die hot forging at 1150–1250°C, ensuring full die fill, consistent flash line and dimensional repeatability across production runs.

CNC Machining of Critical Features

We offer CNC semi-machining of wheel hub forgings — bearing seat bores (H7 tolerance), pilot diameter, flange face and stud hole drilling and tapping — as a value-add service.

Heat Treatment (Normalising & Q&T)

Wheel hub forgings are normalised or quenched and tempered to specified hardness ranges. SAE 4140 hubs are commonly Q&T to 241–285 HB for the best combination of strength and toughness.

Stud Hole Bolt Circle Accuracy

Bolt hole position accuracy is maintained to ±0.1 mm true position using CNC drilling fixtures, critical for wheel balance and brake rotor runout on assembled axles.

Shot Blasting & Surface Preparation

All wheel hub forgings are shot blasted to Sa 2.5 after heat treatment, providing a clean surface for dimensional inspection, marking and primer coating if required.

100% Dimensional Inspection

Every wheel hub is dimensionally inspected against the approved drawing. Key dimensions — bearing seat bore, flange OD, pilot, and hub-to-flange length — are recorded on inspection reports.

Why Choose Shivam Forge for Wheel Hubs

Safety-Critical Manufacturing Discipline

Wheel hubs are safety-critical components. Our ISO 9001:2015 quality system mandates controlled material traceability, 100% inspection and documented heat treatment records for every forging lot.

OEM Drawing Capability

We manufacture wheel hub forgings directly from OEM-supplied 2D or 3D drawings. Our tooling team develops closed-die forging tools from drawings and provides PPAP-style first-off samples.

Competitive Rajkot Pricing

Located in India's premier forging hub — Rajkot's Shapar GIDC — Shivam Forge delivers OEM-quality wheel hub forgings at highly competitive pricing versus European or North American suppliers.

SAE & IS Standard Compliance

Wheel hub forgings are manufactured to SAE J936, IS 2627 and customer-specified standards. Material compliance is documented with spectrometric chemical analysis reports.

Short Lead Times

For standard commercial vehicle and tractor hub designs, we maintain forging dies in-house for fast repeat delivery. New tooling lead time is typically four to six weeks from drawing approval.

Scale for OEM Production Volumes

Our Shapar facility has production capacity to support high-volume OEM wheel hub programs, from 500 pieces per month to 10,000+ pieces per month for established designs.

Shivam Forge is a dedicated wheel hub forging manufacturer based at Shapar GIDC, Rajkot, Gujarat — India's most concentrated precision forging production zone. We produce hot-forged wheel hubs for the full range of vehicle types: passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, tractors, trailers, two-wheelers and off-highway construction equipment. All wheel hub forgings are manufactured in SAE 1040, SAE 4140, EN19 or EN24 steel grades using closed-die hot forging, with optional in-house CNC semi-machining and heat treatment, backed by ISO 9001:2015 quality documentation.

A wheel hub is one of the most structurally demanding components in any vehicle because it simultaneously carries the wheel bearing radial and axial loads, transmits braking torque through the wheel studs or disc hat, and supports the suspension geometry through the knuckle interface. Fatigue failure of a wheel hub results in loss of wheel, which is catastrophic. The forging process aligns grain flow through the hub flange and bearing seat, providing a fatigue life two to three times higher than equivalent machined-from-bar or cast components. This is why every major vehicle OEM in India and globally specifies forged wheel hubs.

Our Rajkot facility operates closed-die forging tooling for wheel hubs across the full passenger car and commercial vehicle size range. Common passenger car hub forgings weigh 1.5–4 kg; heavy truck rear hub forgings typically run 15–35 kg. After forging and trimming, hubs go through shot blasting, normalising or Q&T heat treatment, and 100% dimensional inspection before dispatch. For customers requiring CNC-semi-finished hubs, we machine bearing seat bores, pilot diameters, flange faces and stud hole bolt circles in our in-house CNC turning and machining centres.

The Rajkot engineering belt has supplied the Indian automotive industry with precision forgings for decades. Shivam Forge is part of this ecosystem, with established supply relationships with tier-1 suppliers and OEMs across India. Our 20+ years of forging experience and ISO 9001:2015 certification provide the quality assurance framework that automotive procurement teams require for safety-critical wheel hub supply. We can support PPAP documentation, process FMEA, first-article inspection reports and production part approval for new model programs.

Whether you are an automotive OEM, a tier-1 axle assembly manufacturer or an aftermarket parts distributor, Shivam Forge can supply forged wheel hubs that meet your dimensional, material and quality requirements at competitive Indian pricing. We export wheel hub forgings to customers in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.
