Stern Tube Shafts
Stern tube shaft forgings for oil-lubricated and water-lubricated stern bearing systems. Induction-hardened journal surfaces for bearing wear life. Material: C45 or 42CrMo4 per class society approval.
Rudder Stocks & Rudder Pintles
Rudder stock forgings in C-Mn steel sized to classification drawings for 3,000–100,000 DWT vessels. Rudder pintles in CuNiAl bronze (CuAl10Ni5Fe4) for corrosion-free bearing performance in seawater.
Anchor Chain Fittings
Joining shackles, swivel shackles, kenter shackles and swivel pieces for studlink and studless anchor chain per IACS W28. Proof-load tested per class society requirement. Supply for Gr3 and Gr4 chain.
Bollard Bases & Mooring Equipment
Cast-equivalent forged bollard bases, fairlead frames and capstan parts for vessel deck mooring systems. Forged in IS 2062 E350 structural steel. Superior toughness vs. cast steel at weld connections.
Thruster Bracket Forgings & Deck Fittings
Azimuth thruster mounting bracket forgings and deck hardware including cleats, chocks and cable stoppers. Custom forgings per shipyard or OEM drawings, supplied with material certificate and dimensional report.
Materials for Shipbuilding Forgings
C-Mn Steel per IACS W7 (Grade 1–4)
Carbon-manganese steel conforming to IACS Unified Requirement W7 for shafting and structural ship forgings. Grades 1–4 cover UTS range 400–900 MPa. Chemical and mechanical properties certified per class society.
C-Mn Steel per IACS W28 (Anchor Chain)
Higher-strength C-Mn steel per IACS W28 for Grade 3 (UTS 690 MPa min) and Grade 4 (UTS 770 MPa min) anchor chain accessories. Proof-load and break-load tested per UR W28.
42CrMo4 / EN24 Alloy Steel
Alloy steel for stern tube shafts, propeller shafts on high-power vessels and rudder stocks requiring tensile strength above 700 MPa. Q&T condition, Charpy impact 40 J min at 0°C.
CuNiAl Bronze (CuAl10Ni5Fe4)
Nickel-aluminium bronze for rudder pintles and pintle bearings. Excellent seawater corrosion resistance, self-lubricating in water-lubricated systems, machinability suitable for pintle-bush interference fit.
Stainless Steel 316 / 316L
Marine-grade SS316/316L for deck fittings, seawater piping flanges and exposed hardware on passenger vessels, superyachts and naval ships requiring highest corrosion resistance.
Classification & Quality Assurance
Class Society Document Submission
We prepare and submit forging documentation packages for DNV, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS and Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) approval. Surveyors can witness forging and testing at our Rajkot facility.
UT per IACS UR W7
100% volumetric ultrasonic testing of shafting and critical ship forgings per IACS Unified Requirement W7 Section 4. UT reports reference probe frequency, scanning pattern, sensitivity calibration and acceptance criteria.
Mechanical Property Testing
Tensile, yield, elongation and Charpy impact tests at certified third-party laboratories or in-house per class society specification. Results reported against the applicable IACS or class society grade requirements.
Dimensional Verification per Classification Drawing
All ship forgings are dimensionally checked against the approved classification drawing. Key dimensions — shaft OD, journal length, flange PCD, taper ratio — verified with calibrated instruments.
Material Traceability
Heat number, cast analysis, forging sequence and heat treatment batch are fully documented for every ship forging. EN 10204 3.2 certificates (witnessed by class society surveyor) available on request.

Propeller shafts and intermediate shafts are our core shipbuilding products. Forged in C-Mn steel per IACS Unified Requirement W7, these shafts are ultrasonically tested 100% per W7 Section 4 before dispatch. We machine shafts to alignment tolerance within 0.02 mm/m straightness, with journal, cone taper and keyway machined to the approved classification drawing. Class surveyors from DNV, Lloyd's Register, BV, ABS or IRS can witness forging, heat treatment and UT at our Rajkot facility.
Rudder stocks, rudder pintles and anchor chain fittings complete our shipbuilding range. Rudder stocks are sized per classification drawing and supplied in Q&T condition with Charpy impact test results at 0°C. Rudder pintles in CuNiAl bronze (CuAl10Ni5Fe4) provide seawater-corrosion-free performance in water-lubricated pintle bearings. Anchor chain accessories — joining shackles, kenter shackles and swivels — are forged and proof-load tested per IACS W28 for Grade 3 and Grade 4 chain.
Bollard bases, mooring fittings and thruster brackets require the toughness and weld integrity that forging provides. Weld connections on cast steel deck fittings are a known fatigue risk in mooring and towing operations. Forged bollard bases in IS 2062 E350 deliver higher toughness at the weld toe and better crack arrest than cast alternatives — a meaningful safety argument for vessel owners operating in harsh port environments.

Do you supply anchor chain fittings per IACS W28?
Yes. We manufacture joining shackles, kenter shackles and swivel pieces for anchor chain Grade 3 and Grade 4 per IACS W28. Each fitting is proof-load tested per the applicable class society requirement, with break-load testing on sample pieces.
